Athletic Facilities Set-Up Crew/Usher | Fall '25 WORK STUDY

The Texas State Athletic Facilities and Game Operations Office is seeking, high-motivated, and detail-oriented students who possess a great attitude and can problem solve in a fast-paced environment. The department is looking to hire 8-10 students for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.  

 

Responsibilities may include 

  • Assist with efficient facilitation of NCAA athletic events, special events, and outside rentals 
  • Assist and/or facilitate facility readiness, including proper setup, safety Inspection, and more 
  • Assist and/or facilitate with post event breakdown and restoration 
  • Assist to provide effective and efficient event transition and/or facility conversions 
  • Help preserve the state and appearance of athletic facilities and fields

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be enrolled within Texas State University 
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team setting and face-paced environment 
  • Comfortable with working non-traditional hours when necessary 
  • Comfortable with moderately labor intensive tasks 
  • Comfortable working outside in the elements
  • Must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds.
  • Be comfortable with using tools, driving golf carts, etc. (not required but preferred)

As a member of the Texas State Athletics Facilities and Game Operations Department, one will establish a foundation for a career in athletic administration along with event and facility management. Working behind the scenes of a division one facility, you will develop an enhanced knowledge for multiple intercollegiate sports. Flexible hours are provided to work with you schedule.  Successful candidates will start training upon hire and is an hourly paid position ($10 an hour for a maximum of 20 hours per week).

  • Payrate Determination - $8 - $10 starting pay, and can improve depending on work experience &/or performance
